Montgomery Hospice, Inc. provides medical end-of-life care and emotional support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Our mission is to gentle the journey through serious illness and loss with skill and compassion. We have served Montgomery County, Maryland, since 1981, and in 2019, we began serving Prince George’s County, Maryland, under the name Prince George’s Hospice.
Our Hospice at Home program provides care wherever the patient calls home. This includes private residences, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Approximately one-quarter of patients receive acute care at Casey House, our 14-bed inpatient hospice. Patients receive expert relief of symptoms, and they and their families receive emotional support from social workers and chaplains. Highly trained volunteers provide companionship, even staying in touch when they can’t visit in person. Each year, we care for more than 2,300 terminally-ill individuals of all ages.
In addition, our professional counselors offer grief support to family members of hospice patients and to community residents. The types of care available include telephone counseling, support groups and workshops, currently offered remotely. Each year, our counselors assist more than 6,600 grieving individuals.
